OES organized a dog walk to highlight the project and Eastern Star in Ladysmith here on the island. 24 people came out, about 10 regular dogs, four service dogs, and five service dog trainers. 

OES members and friends walked all the streets of Ladysmith and handed out promotional materials for both the service dog program and the OES.  They also approached the grocery store and were able to put dog brochures in all the shopping bags for the customers for the day. A local island newspaper / magazine did a story on the event as well.  Unfortunately, the local TV station got distracted and couldn’t be there, but they said they would come out the next time.
